La Valise, 2019

A physical worktool, a portable studio, a mental space, a personal cabinet of curiousities.

I am a private person, not being expressive of thoughts and emotions. The unfolding structure of the suitcase represents the secret private room in the deep side of my mind which takes multiple steps to be reached from the public.

The first fold reveals the biggest room and a narrow tall room. The other two rooms remain hidden. The second fold reveals the third room and the smallest room remains still hidden. The last fold finally reveals all the rooms and the thrid room stays 90 degree thanks to the strap.

I wanted to create the experience that the space is not revealed at once but gradually revealed, through a series of motions as if a new unexpected path keeps emerging in every corner of the cave.
